And to get there is easy; just take the second road on the left after the IT Complex as you’re approaching Lamai from Chaweng and it’s right there on the beach (there’s a complimentary limousine transfer to/from your hotel if you book a spa package).
Beach Republic is contemporarily-designed and is one of those places that exudes a chic style that other paces can only dream about. Anyone can go there and eat in its fine-dining restaurant of the same name or luxuriate in Higher Plane Asian Fusion Spa, and for a nominal charge you can also have daily, weekly, monthly or yearly membership that allows you full use of the pool, the well-equipped gym and other facilities at the club, which makes a really fun day out.
It’s spacious at Higher Plane Asian Fusion Spa and everything’s been designed with total comfort in mind. Split-level with lily-ponds here and water features there, plus a private garden chill-out area and stylish black slate communal steam room, and just five treatment suites keeping the whole experience an intimate one. And one of these suites is definitely VIP with two treatment beds, a private Jacuzzi/bathtub and state-of-the-art mood-inducing Futronix lighting and an individual music system – absolutely perfect for romantics!
The Spa Manager is someone special, too. She’s Rachael Archibald, and with experience in places such as The Dorchester in London and The Mandarin Oriental, she’s certainly got all the required knowledge for the position. But maybe her most important qualification is that she’s a friendly and helpful person, as well as being a true professional. Just let her know what sort of things you fancy and she’ll happily come up with a personal recommendation.
 And there’s a lot to choose from. Higher Plane Asian Fusion Spa prides itself in offering a unique range of Asian-inspired treatments, combining the best techniques from Thailand, the Philippines, India, Indonesia and other countries in the region. And there’s an interesting selection of spa packages, too, including the sensational 3-hour Top-To-Toe Sensuous Hilot Chocoholic. It’s too detailed to fully explain here but it includes a chocolate body-scrub, a chocolate and coconut body-wrap in banana leaves, and a chocolate and banana cream massage. And it’s non-fattening, as you don’t get to eat any of it!
