So the next logical step for the owners was to open a spa using the same winning formula of excellent product in combination with second-to-none service, beautiful surroundings and amazing décor. Introducing – Le Spa Zen.
 And this is a truly magical place. Although part of a resort, it’s in its own completely private world. A secret land of tricking waterfalls, lotus ponds, and tropical gardens with the buildings and furnishings reflecting those glorious old colonial days long since passed. Enter the carved wooden doorway to Le Spa Zen’s individual grounds and you’ll discover a timeless Oriental opulence. Burgundy, purples and gold; handmade Moroccan tiles; ornate wrought-iron banisters and lanterns; Indian alcoves; intricately-patterned velvet-covered sofas in arabesque open-air chill-out lounges; antique Balinese wooden fittings and furniture. And all these individual elements come together to form one of the most beautiful spas you’ll find – anywhere!
 Choose to have your spa treatments upstairs in one of the two lovely air-conditioned suites or in the romantic ‘tree-tops’ open-air suite, or stay downstairs and enjoy your experience in one of three private open-air salas in the lush tropical gardens by the side of the huge lotus pond, or on the beach itself in yet another private sala. But before you head off to your chosen suite, you’ll be asked to fill in a short questionnaire.
In addition to the normal health-check questions, there are some seemingly irrelevant ones, too, such as, “What’s your favourite colour?” And from your answers, the therapist will be able to determine which Chakras category you fit into and suggest treatment(s) to match. You can, of course, make your own choices but this is both fun and scientifically-based, and really seems to work!
The spa menu is also presented in a unique, helpful and effective way, with each and every treatment/package illustrated by evocative black and white photographs.
And it must be noted at this point that Le Spa Zen treatments include a lot more than your average pampering services. Every therapy has a holistic element, too, with each treatment beginning and ending with the sounding of the Tibetan ‘singing’ bowl. Ayurvedic treatments are also intertwined with the various therapies, as Le Spa Zen Signature Massage demonstrates. This 90-minute treatment is a full-body oil massage but with a difference. Crystals are placed on your chakras during the therapy whilst warm oil is trickled onto your forehead (this is the famous ‘third eye’ Shirodhara discipline). And the result? Wonderful!
