Every new resort these days has a spa. But many of these are just another added on amenity for in-house guests; trying to keep people from venturing away. But the spa at Silavadee Pool Spa Resort isn’t like that at all. In fact, Silavadee Wellness Spa offers a lot more than many completely stand-alone spas. And here’s why.

First of all it’s the location. Take the first road on the left past the landmark IT Complex, as your approaching Lamai from Chaweng, and follow it to the very end. Here you’ll find the beautiful Silavadee Pool Spa Resort nestling into the hillside, overlooking an idyllic private cove. And as the spa is at the top of the resort, it has the best views of all.

It’s all so spacious up here with wooden walkways leading down and along beautiful garden terraces past the open-glassed steam room to the four double treatments suites and Thai massage suite. And as you’re taken to your particular suite you’ll appreciate just how lovely the whole affair is up here.

The air-conditioned suites are uniquely designed, too, with floor-to-ceiling windows creating a light and airy atmosphere. Come out of the bathroom after changing and you’ll see that the therapist has lowered cream linen blinds on three of the sides, leaving one side still open. But nobody’s going to be peering in at you as there’s just an uninterrupted view of the tops of coconut trees and the beach below.

And although the spa’s only been open a few months, the least experienced therapist has been doing this for more than 4 years, with others having been practicing their art for an incredible 12 years. But, whoever you have, you can be assured of a highly professional treatment by a skilled and friendly person.

A totally original spa experience offered here is the 2 ½ hour Siva Wellness Signature package, which combines three kinds of arts. Firstly, as you’re being treated to a relaxing foot cleansing by one therapist, the other will perform a Siva dance – just for you. Next, you’ll experience the ancient Ayurvedic Medicine practice of Shirodhara, as they pour warm oil onto your ‘third eye’; which has an amazing effect of reflex-balancing your brain (and it really does seem to work!). And, finally, you have a highly decadent 4-hand oil massage with both therapists synchronising their movements, which not only balances your body, emotions, mind and spirit, but it also feels pretty marvellous, too!

The products used are renowned for their natural and therapeutic qualities. And this fits perfectly into such a natural and therapeutic spa. A final mention must be made of the Spa Manager, too, as she epitomises the friendly professionalism of all the staff at the spa, in particular, and the resort, in general. And she’s Khun Kwan (Khun Preyaporn Chanwankom).
