All the expected body-scrubs, masks and facials are available, alongside various massages including Spavilion’s special Thai Yoga Massage. But there’s another treatment performed here that most other spas aren’t qualified to practice. And that’s the Manual Lymph Drainage.
Although it was a technique developed in the 1930s (by Danish practitioner, Dr. Emil Vodder) and is widely used in the top American and European clinics, it’s seldom practiced in Thailand. Which is a shame because the benefits are huge. The method is a massage stimulation of the lymphatic vessels which cause them to contract and, thereby, increase the rate of removal of waste products, toxins and excess fluid from your body’s tissues. This, in turn, enhances your immune system, improves your skin condition, reduces stress levels, relieves chronic conditions (such as arthritis), and the list goes on.
